REV-X Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q – Can I use REV-X with synthetic oil?

A – Yes! REV-X Makes any oil better.

Q – Do I need to use the product with every oil change?

A – Yes! It is necessary to continue using the additive with every oil change to maintain the increased performance and protection of the treated component.

Q – What kind of wear reduction can I expect to see?

A – Through oil analysis testing we have seen reductions in wear metals as high as 70% on treated components.

Q – Can I run REV-X Performance Oil Additive in a new engine?

A – No, you must first allow the engine a proper amount of time to break in. On large diesel engines that can be up to 30,000 miles. The main reason for this is to allow the cylinder liner and rings to seat.

Q – When should I change my engine oil when using REV-X Performance Oil Additive?

A – We recommend oil analyses testing to allow a factual basis that can help you determine any increased drain intervals.

Q – How long do I have to use REV-X Performance Oil Additive before I should notice a difference in my vehicle?

A – When using REV-X Performance Oil Additive you should notice a much smoother running engine within fifteen minutes and increased performance with every heat cycle that follows.

Q – Will REV-X Performance Oil Additive help my turbo?

A – Yes! We have performed extensive testing with turbo applications and have found that with the use of REV-X Performance Oil Additive we can extend the in service life of any turbo up to 4 times the normal life span. REV-X Performance Oil Additive drastically reduces friction on treated bearing surfaces which allows the turbo an increase in efficiency which provides faster spoolup at lower rpm's, increased boost on top end (how much will vary on the turbo used) and reduced thermal temperatures on the compressor side of the turbo.

Q – Can I use REV-X Performance Oil Additive in a trailer refrigeration unit?

A – You can use REV-X Performance Oil Additive in any refrigeration units engine for severely decreased wear properties and extended service life.

Q – Can I use REV-X Performance Oil Additive in an engine that needs to be overhauled?

A – Yes! However, REV-X Performance Oil Additive will not eliminate the need for the engine to be overhauled.

Q – How often should I change manual transmission fluid that has been treated with REV-X Performance Oil Additive?

A – It is safe to run any treated manual transmission fluid 300,000 miles before needing to replace the fluid.

Q – Will REV-X Performance Oil Additive reduce differential temperatures?

A – Yes! Dramatically!

Q – Can I use REV-X V-Twin Oil Additive in a 69 Harley?

A – YES! It may be used in any V-Twin engine.

Q – How much of the additive should I put in the engine and how much in the transmission?

A – We recommend adding 3 ounces in the engine and 1 ounce to the transmission.

Q – What oil should I use REV-X Performance Oil Additive with?

A – You can use REV-X Performance Oil Additive with any type or brand of oil.

Q – What kind of performance increases can I expect from using REV-X Performance Oil Additive?

A – Every engine will give a different degree of increase due to design and use. We have seen increased horsepower and torque from every application we have ever tested.

Q – Can REV-X Performance Oil Additive make my transmission shift smoother?

A – YES! By using 1-2 ounces in the transmission we can transform the shifting quality of both new and old transmissions.

Q – I’ve spent a lot of money on modifying my engine to increase the horsepower and torque, what benefit is REV-X Performance Oil Additive going to give me?

A – Protection! It does not matter how much you have spent on your engine or how much you have invested additionally, REV-X Performance Oil Additive brings the level of protection up to a level that is not even achievable with off the shelf products!

Q – How long does it take for REV-X Performance Oil Additive to activate?

A – You should notice a smother running engine almost immediately and you should have the full benefit within 250 miles.

Q – Will REV-X Performance Oil Additive Cause damage to my engine?

A – NO! There is not a single product in the formulation that will allow even a remote possibility of damage. This was one of the main goals for the product when it was developed.

Q – Is REV-X Performance Oil Additive harmful to the environment?

A – NO! REV-X Performance Oil Additive is a non-toxic product that is not harmful even if swallowed (seems like a waste of product and money though) to people or animals. We however, really don’t recommend this because it really doesn’t taste very good.

Q – I normally change my oil at 3000 miles. When should I change my oil with REV-X V-Twin Oil Additive installed?

A – In a V-Twin application we generally change the engine oil out between 5000-6000 miles. We have determined these mileage intervals based on oil analysis testing. With REV-X V-Twin Oil Additive added to your motor oil you may safely extend you oil change interval to 6000 miles.

Marine-FAQ

Q – Can REV-X Marine be used on high performance inboard engines?

A – Yes! REV-X Marine was designed to be used in engines and outdrives that are highly stressed units.

Q – Will REV-X Marine increase the fuel efficiency of my boat?

A – Yes! However, due to the wide range of boat designs, all models will see varying results. Driving styles will also determine how much of a result and how soon you see an increase in efficiency.

Q – If I treat all drive systems (engine, out drive, power steering and power trim) on my boat will I see an increase in speed?

A – Most likely! We have seen a gain in speed on all of the pleasure and race boats that we have tested REV-X Marine in. When all components are treated the frictional properties are reduced so drastically that it allows the engine and out drive unit to operate with reduced resistance allowing more power to be transferred to the propeller.

Q – How aften am I required to change my engines oil when using REV-X Marine?

A – You may extend your drain intervals up to twice the recommended time period easily with REV-X Marine. Any time you extend a drain interval we recommend that you test your drain oil to verify the condition of the fluid to establish extended drain intervals.

Q – Will the use of REV-X Marine Cause any of my gaskets to leak oil?

A – No!

Q – Will REV-X Marine lower the engine area temperatures?

A – Yes! REV-X will help to reduce under hatch temps and engine room temperatures. Of course this will also depend on the operation of the boat.

Q – What can I expect then REV-X Marine is used in the driven unit on a supercharger?

A – Reduced friction levels between the gears and lowered thermal temperatures from the drive unit resulting in reduced wear properties and a cooler running blower unit!

Q – The lower unit on my boat shifts hard? Will REV-X Marine help with this problem?

A – Yes, unless the unit has heavily substantial wear. We have seen drastic improvements in shifting quality from all transmissions in both lower units and out drives.

Q – The power steering on my boat seems to chatter when being turned at very low speeds. Will REV-X Marine help this condition?

A – Yes! REV-X Marine can help to restore power steering systems back to a smooth operating system again while also working to reduce operating temperatures within the system.
